Update 4

So close you can almost feel it…

Hello Everyone!

We thought it would be a good idea to share some specifics about how we are getting on with setting up our upcoming LAN events and to give you insights into why it’s taking this much time to launch.

Contracts, Contracts, Contracts!

It’s a really bad idea launch an event (especially your first one) without a signed contract in place with a venue. We don’t want to launch our first event without having the venue locked down first.

We are putting our main contracts through legal reviews, as much experience we have with these types of things, we want to have a professional look over them first. And in addition to the venue contract, there are also contracts for other essentials like staff accommodation, equipment rentals, and furniture hire.

On top of this we are making sure we have all those (boring but required) insurances - we never expect to need them but we are making sure we protect everyone, staff, volunteers, visitors and us.

Prepping the experience

Alongside legal obligations, we are also working on the online experience for attendees. This includes setting up the website, ticketing platform, seat picker, and the Discord server. We want to ensure that all of the platforms we provide are functional, useful and informative.

We have a fully working ticketing page and seat picker, but so far we are the only two people sat on there. We would love you to join us…

Time for YOU get ready for launch

We don’t have a huge online presence, or a marketing team for that matter, so we will be asking all of you, the community, to please be ready to spread the word as we reach this critical launch period. We would LOVE to see as many of you as possible at our inaugural event, and LAN is much better with friends, so bring them along!

These emails will honestly be the best place to learn about when we launch. We know that those most eager to come to a big LAN event are already receiving this newsletter, but make sure friends and family that may want to know when we launch get signed up too!

Survey ticket winners!

Thank you to everyone that took part in our survey, it’s really helped us understand what people want, and given us some cool stats to share with potential partners and sponsors to maybe encourage them to come along and enhance the show!

The ticket competition ended and we have selected the 2 winners from the survey competition. They have already been contacted via email, congrats to them - GG!

Final call for GoFundMe support

The support from the community through our GoFundMe has been incredible! As we approach the final weeks before unveiling what we’ve been working on, we’ll be closing the GoFundMe page in around two weeks. If you can afford it, and you’d still like to support us (in such a generous way) feel free to click the link below and provide a donation towards our initial event costs.

Thank you for your patience and continued support. We can’t wait to share the full experience with you soon!

Love you to a moon and back,

Kharne & GeoSnipe
